Damage the engine handles well
Surface tears and creases, water staining and mould spotting, chemical discolouration, cracked emulsion, tape marks, and small missing regions near the edges of the print. Damage across a face is the hardest case, and results there vary with how much of the face survives.
Photograph the print, don't scan the frame
If the photo is behind glass, take it out first — glare confuses any restoration. Shoot straight down in even daylight so the damage, not a shadow, is what the model sees.

- Can it rebuild a face that is torn in half?
- Partially. Where roughly half of a face survives the result is usually convincing; where the whole face is missing the model has nothing authentic to work from, and we would rather you not spend a credit on it.
- Is a failed restoration charged?
- No. A credit is deducted only when a restored image is produced.
